NBA 2K15 is 2014’s premier basketball game that hits more hoops than it misses yet still struggles to be a complete game experience due to its technical issues. While being a definite marked improvement over the previous NBA 2k14, the game still suffered due to server problems and a few faulty features.

Gorgeous Basketballs, Cool Beats
NBA 2K15 strived to actually step up its game from the previous year in contrast to other sports series such as EA’s Madden and for the most part it actually succeeded. Being a next gen game on the then new PS4 and XBONE systems, the game boasted impressive graphics that stood at the very top of the competition in the world of video game sports entertainment. Player models look better than ever before despite the typical uncanny jankiness that we’ve come to expect from these types of games (leers at WWE…). Also the lighting is pretty good and thoroughly impressive. The visual fidelity and audio are as good as you can expect making the eye candy in this game pretty satisfying overall.
The game also featured a completely reworked and expanded MyCareer mode that hosted a whole suite of improvements that nobody really expected. The story mode is unique and entertaining in that you actually have to earn your way to the top instead of being some random nobody who becomes famous overnight because you pressed X like other games. The game even goes as far as to make each different team you can join feel unique by having a representative from that team give a brief appearance as you start out your journey. It feels great to have your favorite real world player coach you on as you begin your own rise to the top in a career mode that can actually stand on its own two feet. Another great thing was the game’s lack of major micro transactions making 2k15 one of the last few games in the series without their current era’s… problems with them. Weird to look back on this entry because of this, how times have changed.
The Lag Made Me Miss (Literally)
The game released with a lot of different bugs and glitches, particularly server issues that had also plagued the previous entry in the series. This pretty much locked players out of whole portions of the game until they were eventually fixed. It’s always a pain to get a new game on release only to find a broken mess desperate for a fix. Other features seemed to work worse than the previous game and the character creation’s ability to take a photo of yourself to use on your MyCareer character was pretty overwhelming overall.NBA 2K15 is an improved, yet faulty 2K14. As expected.
The Good & Bad of NBA 2K15
Pros:
- Gorgeous graphics.
- Incredible narration from the announcers.
- Awesome MyCareer mode that’s always fun to play.
Nba 2k15 Soundtrack

- Slightly buggy at times.
- Broken servers at launch and now completely shut down.
- Lackluster face-scan.
